We are the owners of Part East Half Lot 15 Concession 8 Medonte (ARN 434602000507600 and PIN 585230051) which is partially located in the Moonstone Settlement Area, in the Township of Oro-Medonte in the County of Simcoe.

We are requesting that the property (in its entirety) be included in the Moonstone Settlement Area on the County of Simcoe Official Plan mapping. In the current County of Simcoe Official Plan the settlement area boundary is 30 metres from the south property boundary, resulting in the southern portion of the property being excluded from the Moonstone Settlement Area, in the County OP mapping.

A subdivision application for these lands is expected to be submitted in either March or April of 2023, as the supporting technical studies are nearly complete. About 65 homes are currently proposed.

The Township of Oro-Medonte has indicated that they interpret the Settlement Area Boundary as following the property line in their Official Plan, although the line is mapped in the same fashion as in the County Official Plan.

The Township of Oro-Medonte has prepared a new draft Official Plan and the new mapping shows the property in its entirety within the Moonstone Settlement Area.

The correction of the mapping at the County level through the processing of OPA #7 would provide absolute clarity regarding the status of the Settlement Area Boundary and consistency between the two Official Plans.
