On behalf of the Bond Head Golf Resort Inc. (the ‘Client’), Corbett Land Strategies Inc. (CLS) is pleased to provide formal comments with respect to the County of Simcoe adopted Official Plan Amendment (OPA) No.7 – Municipal Comprehensive Review (MCR) Phase 1 Growth Management (By-law No.6977). This formal response letter to ERO Posting No.019-6113.
We generally support the County’s adoption of the Official Plan Amendment No.7 as this brings the County’s Official Plan in general compliance with the Provincial Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Phase One of the County’s MCR process includes the allocation of the population and employment growth forecasted for the County in Schedule 3 of the Growth Plan to the County’s 16 local municipalities, and to determine the amount of land needed to accommodate this growth. We do however, have concerns that the extent of forecasted growth is insufficient to satisfy housing demands that will provide an adequate locational choice across the County.
