The release of the UN Climate Change Report this week says we have only 12 years to take concerted action on climate change or we will not meet our Paris Climate Accord obligations to limit global temperature increases to 1.5 C.
Cancelling this Act is a mistake. Some form of carbon tax is the best way for us to change behaviour. Whatever plan the government comes up with is going to cost money, whether it is through tax dollars or regulation of industry who will pass these costs to consumers. I prefer a carbon tax, which impact all Ontarians, and is more cost efficient to implement.
We have recently enjoyed the birth of our fist grandchild. I worry about what kind of planet we are passing on to her. Please don't drop the ball on this one.
