Renewable energy (with exception to hydro) was scarce in 1998. Why would Ontario revert back to policies that are 20 years old when the technology in renewable energy has drastically changed?
Like my previous comment, instead of scrapping a fairly up to date plan (which was showing improvements) who wouldn’t research be done to determine the best way to satisfy Ontario and Canada’s goal of 80% carbon reduction by 2050?
If there is no plan to fight climate change at the very least, start preparing infrastructure for more regular occurring century storms. Peoples lives are in your hands. Many people are dying from heat waves and polar vortex, floods are leaving people homeless, etc. This is not policitics...it’s peoples lively hood and we need to seriously look at the facts.
Perhaps looking into how European countries are tackling this issue could help determine next steps?
I’m embarrassed to be living in Ontario right now and constantly feel guilty for hurting the younger generation.
