This should not be a topic of debate in a civilized country. There is no justification for the excesses of cruelty involved in penned dog hunting facilities. This proposal from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry must be strongly opposed. No new licenses should be allowed. No licenses should be transferred. Allowing this practice would be a betrayal of the trust citizens place in their government agencies to conduct themselves with professional alignment to fundamental societal values. Many of us who are not hunters know hunters and accept their rights to pursue their sport. This grotesque practice, however, flies in the face of our good will. It is antiquated, inhumane, unnecessary and strong inducement to sadism. No new applications should be considered and the existing facilities should be phased out as soon as possible.
