I am concerned about what this repeal may mean for the renewable energy industry in Ontario. Premier Ford seems adamant about reversing what little progress we have made in cultivating alternative energy in this province. Setting aside the environmental implications, even from a strictly financial standpoint these industries are on track to be a major source of economic growth. By making it more difficult to get approval for renewable energy projects this repeal would set us back in a major way. This industry needs all the legislative help it can get in order to compete with the heavily subsidized fossil fuels industries. Our province and our world must move away from oil and gas in order to preserve any semblance of the life we now live. I am very concerned by this governments wanton disregard for climate change and taking alternative energy seriously.
