I hereby submit my comments, with two supporting pdf attachments, on the “Bill 4, Cap and Trade Cancellation Act, 2018 ,ERO number 013-3738”.
First I want to state that I, along with literarily thousands of other Canadian and American Scientists, believe that there is no Scientific Evidence that Man- Made Fossil Fuel Emissions have any real effect on our Climate. Therefore there is no need for using less fossil fuels and I am in complete agreement that this act should be cancelled. But I also believe that the Carbon Tax and Cap & Trade debates cannot be isolated from the concept of Man-Made Global Warming for reasons stated below.(I am a retired Scientist and Professional Engineer and my comments are my professional views based on a significant amount of research over 2 decades on the ‘Climate Change’ debates originated by the UN IPCC and as covered by the media):
1. According to the UN climate Change Accords and media coverage Fossil Fuels cause Global Warming with catastrophic consequences , even nothing less than the destruction of the Planet. Whether Cap&Trade or Carbon Tax, both are incentives to use less fossil fuels and to some degree more or less this be the result. So If you believe in one, ( e.g. Man-made global warming) you must accept the other (e.g. any incentives or edicts to use less fossil fuels)
2. Thanks to poor journalism, the public is in my view at least 75% convinced of the catastrophic consequences of man-made global warming, so how can anyone reject that? To be blunt, it would be like opposing Santa Claus! We must therefore address this underlying Global Warming issue now and prepare to defend our stand in the public sphere as it would be clear to others that if we reject Carbon Tax and other fossil fuel disincentives, we also reject the Man-Made Global Warming Issue and there will be a barage of not only national but global indignation. This has already come up in the media from various sources like Greenpeace and some politicians etc. and will come up more and more in future political debates and must be addressed now how to respond to the public.
3. Based on my 20 years of research since the inception of the (in)famous milestone “1997 Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change” , it is obvious to me and many other competent and more qualified western scientists that the UN Man-Made Global Warming is a big Deception! (e.g.: 31,487 American scientists have signed a petition that says: “There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide......will cause heating of the Earth’s atmosphere ...and disruption of the climate” etc.); But this has never been publicised in our media.
4. Whether Carbon Tax or Cap & Trade, as long as we comply with the 2015 Paris Accord and Factoring in all the direct and indirect costs of green energy, the total cost burden to Canada could be up to $ 40 bill./year. (this implies over $ 10 bill/year to Ontarians). It should not be a matter of ‘Tax’ at all, it is a matter of budget expenditures and costs as whatever they are there is only one source and that is ‘Taxation’ and ‘Deficit’ that will pay the brunt of switching from fossil fuels to ‘Green Energy’ (The other Bill I intend to submit my comments also).
I would be pleased to provide your team with the results of my research Treatise on the flaws in the IPCC Man-Made Global Warming Theory at any time, just contact me.
