Bill 4, Cap and Trade Cancellation Act 2018 is a tremendous waste of money. The federal carbon tax will take the place of the provincial one. This is pointless because the federal carbon tax is planned to eventually be much higher than the provincial one. It will also cost billions of dollars to put this bill into action. Any bill made to prevent a carbon tax is only a poor attempt to keep taxes for the rich lower. The money a carbon tax could easily be used to cut taxes for the lower class. A carbon tax wouldn't raise taxes it would change our tax system in a way that makes more sense in a world with a warming climate and would also benefit our economy.
