what is the purpose of removing Climate Change Mitigation and Low-carbon Economy Act, 2016? businesses should be held accountable for their emissions through purchasing credits and the money raised through the credit auction is great for investing in renewable technologies and fostering green initiatives.
The fact that all this act does is remove this system and add a regulation that the conservation areas make up a climate change plan is abysmal. It is the businesses that are responsible and must be held accountable for climate change.
Terminate Bill 4, Cap and Trade Cancellation Act, 2018, and leave the previous act (Climate Change Mitigation and Low-carbon Economy Act, 2016) unaffected.
