Efficiency is a great step towards a greener environment, but it will never keep up with the demand for energy. We have to either reduce consumption, or meet demand with clean energy.
Modest gains in efficiency will do nothing to affect climate change, and only massive curtailing of energy demand will allow us to meet our Paris climate obligations.
By reverting to 1998 measures, we aren’t truly fighting the issue at hand. The Green energy act is one of the best chances we have to fulfill our obligations.
