I'm concerned about the self-registration aspect on the Environmental Activity and Sector Registry. With less oversight, some may cut corners and ignore important environmental standards. For instance, if stormwater isn't managed correctly, it can carry harmful contaminants, posing a risk to our water quality and even our drinking sources. Relying heavily on LEPs might create conflicts of interest if they're pressured to approve projects. The exemptions for residential stormwater works and other low impact developments also seem a bit vague, which could lead to misuse. I fear we're prioritizing quick project approvals and economic growth over the environment. This might lead to inconsistent stormwater management practices and, over time, could harm our environment if everyone isn't meeting the highest standards.
