The Town of Halton Hills unanimously supported modest urban expansion by town council resolution 2021-0159 July 6 & 13th.
( as did the Town of Milton) but were denied by Halton Region Council vote which was dominated by Oakville and Burlington.
Highly political and financial play on their part not to support the smaller communities growth ambitions. Unfair, undemocratic.
Halton needs two official plans, Halton North (Milton and Halton Hills) and Halton South (Oakville and Burlington) to democratically represent the diametrically opposed views.
Regional government should be restricted to supplying infrastructure (water, sewer, roads), police, emergency services but NOT LOCAL PLANNING which is best done at the respective town level.
