I'm a recreational angler and find these changes further complicate baitfishing regulations. These zones and exceptions, including overland transport in some areas just muddle an already confusing matter. Most anglers aren't even aware of slot size limits, not to mention basic fishing season dates.
Keep it simple: non-commercial anglers can only use caught baitfish from the waterbody it was caught in. And these fish may be released in the same spot theye were caught (unless an invasive has been clearly identified) in which case it should be frozen and reported.
As for restricting the legal baits to 33 species. This is good. It would limit misidentification of invasives and it's easier to create a good visual guide with 33 clearly identified legal fish. Thanks!
