I believe that the settlement areas around New Hamburg between Bleams Road and Highway 7 should be left as is, but if changes are contemplated, public consultant and transparency should be present. The disconnect from Kitchener of the area is concerning and there are many things to consider which may not have been due to the lack of transparency. The water supply and sewage capacity are not able to handle a huge increase of usage, especially depending upon the type of industry development considered. the roads were not built to handle the amount of traffic that would be accompanying a large development of industry. I believe the Provincial Policy Statement states that prime agricultural land must be left for agriculture. THIS IS PRIME AGRICULTURAL LAND NEEDED FOR FARMERS TO FEED PEOPLE. This is a human right, food, water as well as shelter and clothing. Trying to expropriate farmland without consultation and discussions and conversations beforehand seems underhanded and a new provincial approach to getting it done without red tape and is not what is acceptable from a public point of view. It appears being bullied into the provincial/region wish without consideration of the area and the public's opinion. This is no way to do governmental business and represent the ciitzens that vote for representation in government. This needs conversation with the residents of the entire area and public conversation that is included to be acceptable.
