Climate change is an existential threat to the human race, and the clock is ticking. Any government action that not only fails to address this threat, but, indeed, takes action to obstruct strategies that have already been put into place to address this threat, must be opposed. We elect our governments for many reasons; many of us didn't vote for this particular government. But none of us voted for a government that would ignore clear and present danger to us, as Ontarians, as Canadians, and as human beings. No matter what role we ascribe to our governments, we should at least agree that the MINIMUM role for government is to take action to protect its citizens from existential threats to their health, safety, and quality of life. We don't have time for administrations to win political points by repealing climate policy. The clock is ticking. We expect our government to act to protect us, and this decision endangers us all.
