Billboards are distracting and they benefit the owners only. Billboard companies shouldn't be involved in legislation. Please, do not approve this, it will hardly contaminate the scenery, we don't want to live in a place filled with publicity. Read more

In response to your solicitations regarding relaxing the laws and regulations that would have the effect of installing larger numbers of billboards along the highways of Ontario, please be advised that I find this a great intrusion upon my public space. Read more

I do not want to see ads on the highway. In terms of gain to the province, I can only imagine that it is a very small amount and not worth the visual clutter and distraction to the roadways and land. Tolls are the way to go. Please keep advertising off of our road ways. Read more

I object to third party advertising on Provincial highways. Ontario is beautiful, and we need to protect that beauty. I am so proud to show my visiting family and friends around and to take them on scenic country drives to really appreciate the nature we have here. Read more

Please don't pollute our scenery with billboards. They are a blight on the landscape and don't belong in Ontario. I am strongly opposed to the further degradation of our environment and request that third party advertising along provincial highways be stopped. [Original Comment ID: 205279]

Please do not add billboards along the highways. Our nature is a big tourist attraction the brings in millions of dollars. Vermont has placed a no- billboards law and it also brings millions of tourist dollars as well as giving it a reputation of a beautiful state. Read more

We do not need signs along our highways, in any way shape or form. They are simply a "DISTRACTION" which totally NOT NEEDED! Help to keep our roads safe, NO VISUAL DISTRACTIONS by business'. The only signs needed are road signs/! [Original Comment ID: 205283]

Re: third party advertising on provincial highways: Please do not do this. Think of the horrors of driving on highways in Florida being bombarded with advertising. It is stress provoking and enraging to be forced to view ugly advertisements. Read more

Having worked in America, I have seen the results of private and poorly regulated advertising billboards beside highways, the worst was in Kentucky. These signs are distracting, ugly & show large corporate ads, or private ads that are abhorrently offensive and psychologically triggering. Read more

With increasing emphasis on the dangers of distracted driving, I am confused as to why we would need more distractions along provincial highways. Further, I would far rather look at the natural beauty of our province while travelling than at ads for products I probably don't need or want. Read more

I do not want these signs up at all. There are enough car accidents without these distractions. It will look tacky not to mention we do NOT need anymore brainwashing from corporations. It also makes the area look extremely unpleasant. I say NO! [Original Comment ID: 205301]
