I oppose the new proposed legislation on “Bait review policy” that will rezone the movement of bait in Ontario. I have been in the business for over 30 years, both as a harvester and a retail operator. My operation is off HWY 11, between Cobalt and Haileybury. Read more

I am a fisherman that frequents Northern Ontario fisheries. The use of live indigenous bait in these areas accounts for the success I have had angling in the region. The proposed policy appears to be excessive and overly reactionary to the issue at hand. Read more

Under the new proposed changes, Emerald Shiners, from the Great Lakes will no longer be available. Anglers demand this Species from this particular area for their winter fishing. Emerald Shiners from the Great lakes are irreplaceable and should not be taken from us. Read more

Live bait is a natural renewable resource. By further restricting the commercial bait dealers you risk putting them out of business entirely, thus jeopardizing the 23 million dollar industry which supports the multi-million dollar fishing and tourism industries. Read more
