STUDIES HAVE PROVEN THAT NUCLEAR REACTOR TRITIUM LEAKS CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESSES ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. CHILDREN'S HOSPITALS LIKE TORONTO SICK KIDS DO NOT ADVERTISE THIS FACT IN THEIR FUNDING CAMPAIGNS.
Please invest time, energy, resources and growing creativity in safe, sustainable environmentally sound energy sources for a healthy future. I do not include nuclear energy or fossil fuels in this list. The leading science has answers that are safe.
No one can guarantee nuclear safety. Absolutely no one. Over the years, there have been many, perhaps hundreds, of minor leaks and emissions from Ontario nuclear plants, including leaks into the Great Lakes. And there is no place to store nuclear waste where we can
The Ontario government should recognize public expectations for public safety, including putting in place measures to protect the public in the event of a Fukushima-scale accident.
We are fast approaching the capability to produce and store solar energy as never before. Take a good look at how this is already working in some other jurisdictions. See video:
Fukushima & Chernobyl disaster is proof that nuclear plants are a disaster waiting to happen. Let's not let that happen here in Ontario, the cost will be too much for all to bear when there is no need for this to happen.

There should be no one left doubting the residual effects of the last century or two of the negative consequences of short term thinking when it comes to energy consumption and stewardship of natural resources.
One in two Ontarians live near one of the 25 reactors that line the shores of the Great Lakes. With major nuclear accidents happening about once a decade globally, Ontario should be prepared to protect us in the event of a nuclear emergency. But we’re not.

Infrastructure failure/ meltdown/ leaks
Terrorist/ Cyber attacks
Seismic activity (Darlington and Pickering nuclear power plants are built near/ on a seismic fault line.)

Nuclear power never should have been promoted! We have the technology to create clean and safe energy and let's face it we can't even the financially maintain it.

public safety from nuclear accidents is paramount for government action plans.
Seeing other countries suffer from these accidents should make prevention and accident strategy a major priority for government now!

Please consider making a plan to ensure the safety of the people living near nuclear plants incase of an emergency ( E.g. a nuclear meltdown).

Nuclear energy is not safe, given the dangers of plant accidents and the risk from the waste generated.
Only renewables should be part of Ontario's energy future.

The damage to the citizens, water, and animals outweigh the saving.
Fossil fuels are far safer and healthier than Uranium.
Again we have no man made material to sustain the Uranium waste.
It will always leak and cause more health problem to the communities!

We need nuclear risks to end in Ontario. We need a clear plan for Ontario to drastically slow climate change through the development of safe, non-carbon-emitting alternatives such as wind and solar.

I am very concerned about the health and safety of my children and grandchildren who live in the Whitby area
should a nuclear accident occur.
There needs to be more transparency, with public involvement regarding Emergency Planning.
