Building "soon-to-be-obsolete' nuclear plants is short sighted. Parts of Australia are using only solar power. Things are happening very fast. Let's get ahead of the curve. Don't believe me? Watch this video:

Supervision of Nuclear facilities, operations remains a grave concern. The conditions, aging infrastructure, disposal of waste, and the myriad of unforeseen natural events continue to be a concern.

Ensure nuclear safety by phasing out reactors and investing in locally generated networked renewable energy and cutting-edge liquid storage thereof.

I think it should be clear to everyone by now that nuclear accidents can occur.
After Chernobyl, Three Mile Island and Fukushima, there is no excuse for failure to create sound emergency plans.

Do not invest more money in nuclear energy. The risks are too great. The money should be spent in safe alternative energy projects which reduce greenhouse gas.

Think about it. Nuclear energy does provide electricity. That is all it does. What has not happened is a way to nullify the contaminants created as a by-product. Why not? You have figured out only half of the equation.

I am a huge fan of renewable energy. Nuclear, in spite of what its proponents say, is not an alternative that should be continued. It is just too dangerous. Never mind potential melt-downs even the spent fuel is a ticking time bomb.

You must move to shut down OPG nuclear near Toronto immediately. There are millions and millions of people at very real risk from a nuclear disaster.

I do not see the need for further promotion of nuclear energy in Ontario as the government has said that there is enough alternative energy being generated, which is why more wind energy stations are no longer needed.

Given that we don't seem to be able to get you to shut down the nuclear option, I think we should at least have a plan in place which would match or exceed the best-practices in other countries.

I'm very concerned about our environment, I would just for once hear that some one would listen to the voice of the people.

It's 2017 and time to follow Germany in phasing out expensive and inherently dangerous nuclear power stations and move to renewable and safe solar and wind.

I am fully in support of the following statements:
The Ontario government should recognize public expectations for public safety, including putting in place measures to protect the public in the event of a Fukushima-scale accident.

I am deeply concerned at the failure of the present government of Ontario to appropriately take into account the risks to Ontarians posed by the nuclear generation stations on the shores of the great lakes.

NUCLEAR POWER IS TOO DANGEROUS.......TOO EXPENSIVE.......how can any reasonable, logical public servant take the risk with so many lives? Alternative power exists and should be employed.....be a hero with this generation and any future Canadians who may survive.

We have lived since 1980 in Prince Edward County, 100+ KM downwind and downstream in Lake Ontario of the Darlington Nuclear station and within 80 KM of 2 nuclear stations across the border in the USA.
