Current emergency planning for major accidents at Ontario's nuclear power plants is woefully inadequate. As unlikely as a major accident is, it is important to plan for the possibility. Our province has not done this.

After accidents as severe as Fukushima or Chernobyl it's alarming to know that the GTA is surrounded by multiple nuclear reactors and there is no plan to protect us from a similar disaster.

We need to be prepared for a very bad nuclear accident. You may think it too expensive. In that case we should not have nuclear plants. We cannot afford not to be prepared. An analogy is being prepared for a house fire. It's expensive to be prepared but we need to be prepared.

I am very nervous about nuclear energy and nuclear power plants. Wind and solar power should be developed and nuclear should be avoided as much as possible. There is no way to safely dis gaurs nuclear waste

The Ontario Government needs to manage the province's Nuclear sites in a responsible and reasonable manner. They need to consider the possibility that accidents may happen particularly with aging reactors and plan appropriately.
