Water is our most precious resource. Development and growth in the south end of Guelph and the Village of Rockwood is threatening both the Speed River and Eramosa River watersheds.
I am in full support of expanding the existing Greenbelt to Brant County, Waterloo, Guelph-Wellington, and Dufferin and Simcoe Counties. The Crombie Report recommended the inclusion previously. More than 1 million new residents are expected to live in these areas by 2041.

It is extremely problematic that under BOTH the Greenbelt Plan and the Growth Plan existing, expanding or new infrastructure under the Environmental Assessment Act is permitted if it serves significant growth and economic development.

I am in full support of the expansion of the Greenbelt into the areas of SImcoe County especially in the Township of Oro Medonte. We are loosing our green spaces to development at an alarming rate.
The proposed plan states “We want your thoughts on the proposal to protect important water resources, such as moraines, cold water streams and wetlands, by growing the Greenbelt in the Greater Golden Horseshoe.”
