I am urging your government to stop eliminating all the environmental protections in Ontario. Why are you taking us back to the dark ages ? We have an obligation to live up to the Paris Agreement that was signed several years ago. We need clean energy ,and alternatives to fossil fuels.

Originally passed as a way to meet Climate Change mitigation targets, the Government of Ontario must provide a clear plan to control the affects of Climate Change. Cap and Trade clearly works for the government and industry. Climate Change is not a political issue.

It seems very short-sighted to be cancelling the Cap & Trade Program in Ontario. The funds from this program were helping so many different areas that will either now have to go without or the government will need to foot that bill from somewhere else.

Cap and Trade is not perfect - no system is or can be. But what Bill 4 seeks to repeal was / is very very effective at utilizing MARKET forces to enable emitters to identify the most effective means of limiting their carbon emissions.

Pricing carbon is a necessary step to reducing greenhouse gases. Do not waste the potential of building on the work that has already been done in establishing a cap and trade system. Or, implement a carbon fee and dividend model.

I would like the government to reconsider Bill 4 which removes the cap and trade system. Within the last few days the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released a report stating that we need urgent action to counter climate change.

The cap and trade plan was far from a perfect solution in that it was complex and not revenue neutral or technology neutral (revenue went to rebates for specific technologies).
