Cap and Trade in Ontario is essential, as without it there would be little else currently in effect to limit emissions by big (industrial) polluters in Ontario. The reality is such that even more, much more, in addition to Cap and Trade must be done to successfully combat pollution. Read more

Cap and Trade should not be scrapped. It is just coming online. At least 10 years should be given to see if it works. There is no need to developed ANOTHER plan. Scrapping it is going to cost a ton of money, and leave us with nothing to replace it. Read more

Cap and trade was working well. It has been shown by many studies to be the most cost-effective way to reduce emissions (thereby putting the lowest burden on consumers). Furthermore, it was paying for hundreds of clean energy initiatives in the province. Read more

This legislation will cost taxpayers billions to buy back credits. As well the federal government will apply the carbon tax anyway and spend the money in Ontario but the Ontario government will have no control over where this money is spent. Read more

I would just like to say I am against ending the Cap & Trade program here in Ontario. At a time when the storms are getting worse around the world and the fact that we rarely have winters here in Ontario is alarming. In fact we need to stay the coarse if not do more than we are already. Read more
