The recent United Nations IPCC special report on the impacts of global warming states that the world has to make radical changes immediately in order to avoid reaching a tipping point by 2030. If that tipping point is reached, it will become virtually impossible to stop our planet from warming up. Read more

As a voting citizen of this province, I want to be very clear when I say I am NOT in support of Bill 4. It is foolhardy and irresponsible to be eliminating climate protection programs in a time like this, especially given the latest findings from the scientific community. Read more

Given the urgency of the climate change crisis, especially since the release of the IPCC report which now warns us we must take immediate and drastic action, it is imperative that the Ontario government institute a carbon fee and dividend program immediately. Read more

We should be continuously improving our policies regarding the protection of our environment, not perpetually backtracking to archaic ideologies and beliefs on the subject. I will lose all faith in the decision making powers of our government should this bill go through. Read more

The recent UN report is convincing and highlights that this is no time to decrease policies that help keep our resource use in check. If it’s wrong then we’ve saved some money, helped to uncover alternative sources of energy and saved resources. Read more

We should not cancel Cap and Trade! We need to reinstate Cap and Trade and become even more stringent. Climate change is a real problem that will affect humanity severely. Cap and Trade and other green policies help us move forward by incentivising progressive action. Read more

It is unacceptable that the provincial government would take Ontario backwards on addressing climate change. Ontario has many important industries - notably, forestry and agriculture - which depend heavily on a stable climate and regular rainfall. Read more

I am in support of Cap & Trade or a similar mechanism (even a carbon tax) by which environmental externalities can be incorporated via a market mechanism. I believe that removing such a mechanism is near-sighted and would be detrimental for future generations. Read more

The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has once again issued a dire warning in the latest global climate change report, citing severe consequences to humanity and the planet should we not act to drastically reduce global greenhouse gas emissions within the next 12 years.
