Our climate is changing and creating many additional costs such as health care bills related diseases Canadians didn’t get before such as Lyme disease. We will pay now or later. Please do the right thing and keep existing sustainable initiatives that limit climate change.

Climate change is an urgent and pressing issue, both for current generations as well as generations to come in the future. Failing to act on climate change robs future generations of their right to a clean environment and opportunities for economic prosperity. Read more

Without a clear, detailed plan on clean energy efficiency for our homes and buildings as well as electrifying our transportation systems, we can expect to see more forest fires, erratic, damaging and expensive weather patterns, and health problems among our populace. We only have one Earth and we are treating it badly. With no formal program to preserve it, we are planting the seeds of Doom. Maybe not in our lifetime but in that of our grandchildren and their own subsequent children, things will begin to look very bleak. Read more

It seems that the elected officials of the Ontario Conservative government are not the least bit concerned about their own children, let alone the rest of the country and the world. Recent news bluntly informs us that we have 12 years to completely change the future and it must be done swiftly! Read more

The cap & trade system seems to have potential for abuse, and is confusing to most citizens. Also agreed that there should be no carbon tax. Instead, I like the idea of a FEE for emitting CO2 or methane, and a DIVIDEND for reducing CO2 or methane emissions. Read more

Bill 4 fails to match the urgency of the climate crisis and represents a major step backward in the fight against climate change. •It is unfair and unreasonable to eliminate the province’s only climate plan without being transparent with the public about the plan to replace it. Read more

It is wasteful and unproductive to cancel the existing efforts to control carbon emissions. We will make no significant progress if each new administration spends time and money reversing the efforts of the previous one before devising a scheme they can call their own. Read more

Carbon pricing just won the Nobel prize. Time is running out. We must use the most effective tools we have to limit climate change to 1.5 degrees warming. The Ontario government must demonstrate objective, ethical, courageous leadership in how we respond to the biggest crisis faced by humanity.

Strong environmental policies are very important to me as an Ontarian. I would hope the present premier would not cancel policies due to them being in place from the previous government, especially if there is not an adequate replacement offered. Read more
