If this bill passes, it will send a clear message. This Government does care about the future of Ontario and the planet. It is time that climate change is no longer seen as a partisan issue. Would you say the Earth was flat? Would you debate the existence of gravity? Read more

Aside from political ideology how can you think that undoing work to help limit and preferably reverse our influence on global climate change, global warming is a good idea. How can this be viewed as anything other than short-sight, narrow-minded self serving misfortune? Read more

The cancellation act is a major step backwards that we cannot afford to make. Without important change for the environment and no plan to replace the cap and trade, the environment is facing irreversible consequences because we couldn’t be smarter to act faster. Read more

I think that removing the current penalty for polluting is a terrible idea in that we currently have no other mechanism to deal with large companies that pollute the environment and to provide incentive for companies who are being environmentally conscious with their emissions. Read more

I am deeply opposed to the new act to cancel the existing climate change act. While it stipulates that the government must come up with a plan, it does not stipulates that the plan should do better than the previous plan. In fact there is potential to do much less. Read more

As an Ontario resident and Canadian citizen I strongly oppose this government's proposal to cancel the current cap-and-trade system before developing, publicising and receiving public comment on an alternative system to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions in Ontario. Read more

The Earth's climate has changed throughout history. Just in the last 650,000 years there have been seven cycles of glacial advance and retreat, with the abrupt end of the last ice age about 7,000 years ago marking the beginning of the modern climate era — and of human civilization. Read more

We need to keep the Cap and Trade program. Its not for the populous vote but for our children and grandchildren. We all have seen the effect of climate change - hot this summer wasn't it! But as you know that doesn't prove climate change. Read more

I’m very disappointed that the cap and trade plan is being cancelled without any proposed alternative plan. It’s fine to dislike the federal government and previous governments’s strategy, but only so long as there is an alternative carbon reduction plan in place, or at least proposed. Read more

I and many of my friends, family and neighbours are struggling with the idea that the Ontario government would cancel carbon cap and trade. This policy had endowed the Ontario treasury with billions of dollars. Cancelling a billion dollar gift is hard to justify. Read more

The people of this province did not elect this government to work against our interests by making our environment less safe. We can not abide denial at this point - the evidence is overwhelming that we must do everything we possibly can to slow down climate change. Read more

I am proud to live, work, and pay taxes in Ontario. I believe that Ontario could be on the cusp of greatness in the world, and a leader on the global stage, and I believe this can happen if we make a choice now to do something truly innovative. Read more

Good Day, In regards to the abandoning of the Cap and Trade program I am interested in a real climate change plan that will lead to a reduction in emissions and able to help people save energy and also create job by tapping into the $26 trillion clean economy. Read more

It is certainly unfortunate that the current Ontario Government is not buying into addressing climate change in any way. The cap and trade system in place has proven to be very effective at reducing carbon in the atmosphere. Please get your act together!
