I am 100% in favour of this proposal. Cormorants have and continue to decimate our fish populations. It's a wonder why an INVASIVE species has been listed as protected.
Next up, Mute Swans!
I support the proposed hunting season for double-crested cormorants, because I believe that they cause significant environmental harm, including consumption of a large amount of fish and damage to trees and other plant life.

I've seen the loss of "Pan Fish" in my area of St.Lawrence since the explosion of population of Cormorants in my area.I don't mind saying it's in the Cardinal area of river. The trees that have been ruined is disgusting.Even the size of fish has changed.

I think that cormorant populations are high enough to support a hunting season. I am unsure about whether they are having a significant and undue effect on fisheries and/or island habitats.

Yes I think there should be part of the migratory bird hunt,I have hunted Presquile park for 30 yrs and they have decimated the trees on one island and have started to do the same on the other one, not to mention what they do to the fish population.
Hunting cormorants during nesting season and on their nests seems to be a nutty idea.
they nest among other nesting birds, like black-crowned night herons.
odds are that hunters will be disturbing the other nesting birds with gunfire.

Hello, commenting on the proposed hunting season for commorants. Take a look at what they are doing to some of the natural vegetation in parts of southern Ontario. They are destroying it. I am all for a commorant hunt, and know many people who would be as well.
The cormorant crisis must be corrected. They have destroyed thousands of beautiful islands and are consuming millions of sport fish. A no limit season should be added to the migratory bird season. Please allow hunters to take back our lakes and rivers.
I grew up on Lake Erie, and cottaged on Georgian bay in the parry sound area.
I believe that this should have been done 15-20 years ago.
The destruction and the horrid smell on the break wall in Port Colborne, they have caused is disgusting!

I beleive the cormorant population has grown unmanageable due to lack of predators and they are feeding on our population of sport fish to a detrimental level.
I agree with a hunting season on this pest bird.
There is way too many of these birds it only takes a few to fish out a small inland lake, nature can longer balance itself because of humans expansion, there should be a hunting season whether you eat them or not
I completely support this new regulation. Over the past 2 years the population is growing on our lake (Kennisis Lake, Dysarthria eat al) where we own a cottage, and they are starting to be destructive. We need to stop the breeding now before it gets out of hand.
Commorant birds are awful. They are destroying our eco system. Not just the fish but the trees that they sit in amd hunt from are also dying. They need to be slowed down.
I believe a cormorant season should be open in wmu 94 a and b from August 1st 2019 until December 31st 2019. With a 50 bag limit, eith no possession limit.
As for licensing only a valid small games should be required. Firearms license goes unsaid.

The damage that Cormorants have done to the environment is unacceptable and hunters should be allowed to cull them. As far as treating them as a game animal, I highly doubt that anyone will be eating them.
Cormorrants need to be immediately culled with an open season on them. The sheer devestation to our fish population and land caused by these birds needs to be corrected sooner than later.
