My wife and I totally AGREE with this proposal. It has gone on too long and now these birds have totally destroyed one island on our lake and another will be destroyed soon. In Lake Ontario you can drive a boat for an hour beside the same flock. Read more

The Cormorant hunt decision is one of the worst in Canadian history. This is a species that was twice nearly wiped out in Ontario. It will be legal to leave the carcasses of birds who have been shot as “game” to rot. Read more

I fully support a hunt for the cormorrant. I live in Prince Edward County and have seen the detrimental effects of the burgeoning population in and around Lake Ontario and its islands. The population needs to come into check.

There are no scientific studies or real evidence that cormorants deplete fish stocks or cause environmental damage. Why cause the extinction of a species? I am completely AGAINST allowing cormorants to be hunted and killed for fun.

Re: Proposal to establish a hunting season for the double crested Cormorants in Ontario. I strongly agree with this proposal because of the negative and detrimental impact these birds have had and continue to have on Goffat Isalnd and Lake Simcoe. To see Goffat Isalnd invaded by these Read more

Please do your homework, to allow hunting of double-crested cormorants in horrific. I'm strongly opposed to this. And if you think this will increase the fish population, sadly mistaken. Not much thinking has got into this.

I have witnessed the growth and destruction these birds have done to islands in the Bay of Quinte St. Lawrence waterways. Something must be done. Hunting a fish eater for food is I suspect not appealing. Egg oiling would be a better solution I would think.

I believe that there should be a hunting season for double-crested cormorants in Ontario. Although I don’t believe in hunting a species and not finding a use for it’s body, I believe that they provide more negative things on the environment than good for several reasons. Read more

This proposal to allow hunting of Cormorants is ludicrously stupid. You are planning to allow idiots with guns to shoot 50 cormorants a day during their breeding season and not even have to collect the carcasses. Read more

I am against making cormorants game birds. They will be slaughtered for fun and left to rot. This is a cruel and abusive way to treat these birds. There are too many animals and birds already becoming extinct. DO NOT add the cormorant to the extinct species list. Read more
