I do not agree with opening up the greenbelt to development. This space is worth more than just the cost of the land, it is valuable for food, recreation, and natural processes which require, nay DEMAND this type of environment to function. Read more

I'm simply amazed that a government, given the tight schedule we're on to cut carbon, would even consider removing the protected green areas. Please do what most Ontario voters want and protect what's already protected. That's one of the ways you might just get reelected.

I urge you to cancel (omit, delete, whatever it takes to get rid of) Schedule 10 of Bill 66. The Greenbelt seems to me already sufficiently compromised without allowing municipalities to by-pass legislation and thus further degrade it. Read more

Please remove Schedule 10 from Bill 66, which allows municipalities to override provisions in the Greenbelt Act, Clean Water Act, Lake Simcoe Act, Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Act and Great Lakes Protection Act. Our Green Belt should be protected, not opened up to development.

Bill 66 has few good points and many non-beneficial points. As a farmer I have seen big business buying farm land at a stagering rate, only to turn it into development projects destroying the environment similar to the Greenbelt and other unique and valuable food lands. Read more
