I am sorry and sad to learn that the Ontario government doesn’t care about our land, animals or planet. I want this proposal ditched no offer to give companies a chance to pay in lieu or protection and responsibility. Shame on the Ford government you need to hear and listen to the voters

I think that Ford needs to step down. He is removing things that my kids need. That 5 generations from now will depend on. Anyone in between depends on. I'm tired of being afraid of something happening because Ford has made so many changes to things like healthcare, education, environment.

I am sickened by the regressive proposed changes and stall tactics the government is proposing to the Endangered Species Act. Humans have the great responsibility to ensure the survival of all the living creatures being impacted by our actions and way of life. Read more

As a former resident of Canada, grandson and nephew of Canadian armed forces members, frequent visitor to Canada--especially Ontario, and concerned American, I wish to express my dismay at changes that might allow so-called "economic" concerns to over-ride environmental ones. Read more

We are living in an era of climate crisis. We are consistently seeing species become more endangered. For example, the American Bumblebee is facing IMMINENT EXTINCTION in Canada. We, as in humans, are the cause of this and the destruction of so many other species. Read more

I don’t understand how this will help our world in any way. There are professionals who have spent years to protect these species. Think of the long-term effects and the message this sends about Ontario’s level of care and understanding of the environment.

It is important to our environment, and to the future of our native species to protect their habitats by not over developing the land. We must as a society create conservation areas and leave vast spaces in which the animals can live and thrive for future generations. Read more

Our wildlife and their habitsts3must be protected. If the ecosystem collapses, we will not only have no wildness for future generations, but humans will not be able to survive without clean water, air, increased (constant) natural disasters, and increased social unrest due to scarcity. Read more

The proposed changes are gutting a law that makes it possible to identify vulnerable species, protect them and their habitat, and give them a shot at survival and recovery. You are pandering to industry and sprawl developers which will have its own set of consequences. Pay-to-Slay? Read more

It’s my opinion the proposed changes would weaken the ability for the government, scientific community and people of Ontario, to actually protect SAR. Furthermore I do not think this is in alignment with the Federal Governments commitment to sustainable development. Read more

With the current trends on species extinction, the world, including Canada, needs to have the environment as their top priority if we are to keep diversity for future generations. We need stricter laws and acts that help protect our native flora and fauna.

Many of these articles are incredibly vague to say the least... too much room for interpretation. For laws/policies to change, they should be specific. A future where we make up rules as we go along is an intimidating future. Make changes that make us all proud to be Canadian.
