Changing the current laws geared towards protecting our wild life would be one of the biggest mistakes we could make for our province. It is so very important to do our part to help protect our wild life and our eco systems, in this day and age. We xan not allow these changes to take place.

I support more stringent protections for species at risk . Your proposals will not accomplish that goal. On the contrary, for the most part they would make it easier for industry and developers to destroy the habitats of our most vulnerable plants and animals. Read more

There are grey areas in the wording which is open for interpretation and most likely will err on the side of the developer., therefore for exact wording needs to be implemented. All of these proposals will weaken the ESA Act not strengthen it, which is what is needed. Read more

We are appalled at the cuts the Ford government is making in many areas. We are also disgusted at the free pass they are giving big business and developers instead of making them be responsible for the damage they are doing to our environment and endangered species.

Proposal 1 should not provide a 12month period to amend the SARO List, it should be done within two months. The Minister should NOT be allowed to reconsider the classification of a species. The scientific studies should stand with their recommendations.

I have read the proposed legislation, and I don't think these changes are being done to protect endangered species. I think these changes are ooening up the protections we now have in place, so that builders and corporations can do what ever they want. Read more

The proposed changes to the Ontario Endangered Species Act continue to gut the effectiveness and even the existence of the Act. The 2013 changes under Premier Wynne exempted large industries; this was a terrible decision. It was not supported by any science. Read more

I have grave concerns with the proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act. We need the biodiversity of species throughout the province. There was a recent report on the consequences of climate change and the likely loss of over one million species as a result. Read more
