My concern is with the BCIN certified designers. The MMAH developed a system for non-architect designers to design million dollar projects, but MMAH does not have a code of ethics, no enforcements, no continuing education requirements. Read more

The current online Code is not very helpful. It is incomplete, unsearchable and does not take advantage of available software technology to facilitate deployment. Also, the MOH information line is understaffed. It takes a long time to get a call returned. Read more

I recommend the government reconsider adding more red tape and cost by creating a certified professional model. I recommend the government mandate more training for Architects and empower them to provide the role of certified professional. Read more

These changes to increase oversight do not support the provincial governments promise of less reporting and less red tape. The charges proposed will increase municipal Building Service Costs by 3.14% (3.62% for Admaston/Bromley) based on 2018 FIRs. Read more
