How can you condone such behaviour!? People aren't responsible or care enough to ensure they arent killing mamma bears !!!! This ia terrible, atleast with Does and Deers they know enough to not kill young or mothers !!!!!
We judge other countries for the ravages we have seen to their animal population. Like the tusk of a rhino or elephant!! The hunting for sport. Black bears are not hunted to feed a family. Baiting the bear while sitting in wait. Some sport!

There is absolutely no reason for a spring bear hunt other than to please one certain segment of the population. Hunters should NEVER dictate legislation as they are now allowed to do. Science, fact and reality is what should speak.
In the 21st Century we surely know that this is wrong. Killing animals for ‘fun’ is despicable to begin with but to kill any animal that’s weak and desperate for food is beyond foul. Please ban this hunt for good.
Please reconsider and do not hold the Spring bear hunt. There has been no proof shown that this hunt reduces human and bear conflict. We need to remain proud of our beautiful land and respect our wildlife. We have already taken away so much of their habitat for our own.

We should be protecting our wildlife, not killing them. Since when is it ok to kill a mother in the spring when all knows full well she will have little ones hiding somewhere eagerly waiting for her to come back with much needed food...to leave them waiting, crying out while they starve to death.

I am against reinstating the spring bear hunt. The hunt would take place when the bear cubs are at their most vulnerable. Although the proposal is to only hunt boars the reality is that females often hide their young in trees when foraging.

NO. BIG NO. Why do we need to continue to take the life of others for profit? NO. Leave them be. These “hunters” are not experts. They could be killing a mother who has cubs back at the den. Stop the stupid cruelty.
Please do not bring back the spring bear hunt, this would be devastating as bears have low reproduction rates, meaning the survival of adult females is vital for the species.
The Spring Bear "Hunt" is a barbaric and cowardly practice. It is cruel to kill sleeping bears and leave their cubs to starve. We are better than that. Hunter/slaughterers who do this are cowards. There is no economic necessity for the "Hunt".
