I believe that municipalities should be able to veto for new or increasing water-takings in their area. They need to be able to plan for future growth and the effects of climate change on the source water in their area. Water should not be sold to large commercial businesses.

It is of paramount importance that the Ministry put in place regulations that will guarantee the supply of good clean water for all citizens of this province. Without a long-term guaranteed supply of good water for all citizens, we are all in a position of high risk to our lives.
Proposed Actions
Goal 1: Highest Priority Use: Ministry proposes to assign Environment and Drinking Water as the highest priority use while considering a PTTW. Both Drinking and Environment are proposed to have equal priority.

There is no need for bootleg water. We pay good money to put tax dollars to have safe water to drink. If a community is without safe drinking water in Ontario then shame I the government. Do your job. Let’s have safe drinking water for everyone today.

Water is a precious resource and should not be treated as just another commodity, especially by the bottling companies which have had such advantageous deals with local municipalities. I really feel those companies should be paying the same rates as other consumers.
