Stop! You know it’s wrong. None of us can plead ignorance. You are selling off your children’s future. Is that really OK for you? What will your legacy be?
For those of us who are concerned about climate change (and we can see that now in progress), the last thing we need is deforestation anywhere for any reason.
Clearing forests for biomass wood pellets is not a green energy solution. We need real solutions that address emissions while not destroying natural elements that help mitigate greenhouse gases themselves. Not to mention contribute to habitat and biodiversity loss.

The Boreal forest in its native unplundered state is of vital necessity to human existence on the planet and as a combat for climate change. It is a criminal act by Ontario to allow the decimation of the forest for burning pellets and generating electricity. It is an act of suicide.

It is insane to cut trees down to make wood pellets. I’ve been reading about forests in European countries being cut down for this industry but I did not realize we were that stupid in Canada. Please stop this now!
Stop the wood pellet industry- it is proven to be ineffective in helping the environment and is a dirty and thoughtless avenue. We need to protect our forests and not destroy them! Destroying our trees to “help” the environment is idiotic and an archaic thought.
Stop the idiocy.

One of the main products of Ontario’s forest biomass industry is wood pellets. Wood pellets are marketed as a clean energy alternative, but we know that wood pellets are dirtier than coal at the smokestack.

Please wake up! We cannot sustain the decimation of our precious forests for any kind of industry. It is irrational, illogical and the product of corporate and government greed. Burning healthy and diverse trees is NOT what the people want. There are other earth friendly solutions we can utilise.

To burn wood instead of coal for electricity is just plain stupid. It is the governments responsibility to ensure big companies do.not destroy our planet. This should be stopped immediately
Hello, moving forward on our planet, wouldn't it be admiring to benefit more from greener or sustainable forms of enrrgy? I realize it's a huge change but feel it's necessary for our future generations. We, as humans, can unite and agree on a safer planet, yes?

The wood pellet industry is a false solution to climate change as burning wood produces more CO2 than burning coal, and it involves cutting down trees. Please do not expand this industry.
There is no such thing as "waste wood" in the forest. The wood residue from a fallen tree rots back into the forest floor to feed the soil so it can grow the next generation of trees. Leftover wood residue from a sawmill operation makes sense to use as fuel.

Ontario's draft forest biomass action plan must be changed. Deforestation leads to further climate change damage.
We reject the plan and urge you to create a healthy strategy.
Expanding wood pellet production for burning to produce energy is a dumb and dangerous idea. Living trees absorb CO2 and as long as they are alive they are a carbon sink. Chopping them down and burning them puts all that carbon back into the atmosphere as CO2.
