Please don’t allow the commodification of water in Canada. The selling of bottled water is unfortunate in a country with the water resources we have, especially considering as well how much plastic waste it generates. Please say NO to Nestlé.

The Haudenosaunee Confederacy Council issued a cease-and-desist order two years ago to stop Nestlé from taking the water. By requesting the permit and making plans to continue the water grab, Triton Waters is ignoring Indigenous sovereignty. Just like Nestlé did.

Clean potable water is already a hard enough resource to obtain as is. We should not allow companies to access precious resources for a pittance and then sell it back to us for a premium, especially since we just denied Nestle that same privilege.
Triton Waters could be even more dangerous than Nestlé. It has just applied for a 10-year renewal of Nestlé’s permit to take water out of Ontario for bottling.

Triton nor any corporation should have access to our water when Indigenous communities don't have clean drinking water. Water should not be sold, it's a human right and a necessity of life.
Now, more than ever, the Ontario & federal Canadian governments need to step up and help right the many wrongs from the past and for the sake of humanity- to help First Nations have free access to clean water. Corporations have no right to such basic needs ahead of humans .
This is for any and all companies attempting to rape our lands of our precious fresh water supply. Our water should never be sold as a commodity for businesses. Please do not allow this permit or any like permits to pass.
