I strongly oppose the application of BlueTriton to obtain a permit to take Ontario Ground water from our aquifers. Water is our life blood. For communities like Guelph, who rely solely on the aquifer for all our water needs, no commercial bottled water should be allowed anywhere in the aquifer.
The Haudenosaunee issued a cease and desist over two years ago for this action. By requesting this permit, Blue Triton is refusing to acknowledge the sovereignty of Indigenous lands. By entertaining it, so is the provincial government. This is disgusting.
Your government should not even think about approving any permit for this latest corrupt corporate theft of this precious and finite water resource; not for 10 years, not for 5 years, not for 1 year.

The Haudenosaunee Confederacy Council issued a cease-and-desist order two years ago to stop Nestlé from taking the water. By requesting the permit and making plans to continue the water grab, BlueTriton is ignoring Indigenous sovereignty. Just like Nestlé did.

So bluetriton wants to take clean water from indigenous land when so many indigenous communities don’t have access to clean water? That’s unacceptable. Canada HAS to do better.
It is past time to terminate drawing of water to be sold in plastic bottles in Canada.
Not only are we adding to the "plastic pollution" but also allowing a company to deplete the ground water supply that many depend on for their wells.
