I am opposed to this amendment. If a few people are making requests for this barbaric activity, it should not necessarily be changed. The initial objective to phase out these Train and Trial facilities is warranted and should be maintained.

As a lover of wildlife and supporter of ethical hunting, I do not support the proposed bill. There is nothing ethical about about trapping scared and innocent wildlife in a pen to be chased around by dogs. This is a terrible practice and a terrible bill that should not be passed

I oppose the proposal to allow the issuance of licenses for new dog train and trial areas. It is cruel and inhumane to trap and pen an animal for the sole purpose of terrorizing them on a daily basis in order to train dogs for hunting. Read more

It is disgusting they my government is considering to allow legislation that promotes cruel and archaic behavior towards innocent creatures. I am ashamed to be part of this country if this is the direction we are taking. I implore you to reconsider and not move forward with this!

We were right in 1997. These are inhumane and expanding the number of them is not in the best interest of wildlife in Ontario. There is also a stable population of humans, but the Ontario government doesn’t encourage hunting them for sport. You can say no to the requests to expand this program.

This is disgusting. Have we learned nothing about how humans have continually selfishly damaged this planet. This is in no way beneficial to anyone except those who enjoy torturing animals. Shame on you for even considering this. Apparently we were more enlightened in 1997. Shame on you!
