I am absolutely appalled that train and trial areas have been going on since 1997. To trap and contain wild animals for the purpose of training dogs or for sport is barbaric and cruel. Read more

This practice is barbaric and inhumane. Why are people’s pets considered more worthy than the suffering of other animals? I am appalled that such cruel practices continue to be allowed in Ontario. It should be against the law to willfully cause any animal unnecessary suffering and painful death. Read more

I understand that some people use their dogs to hunt, however catching wild animals (hares, coyotes, etc), particularly when they were caught by trapping which is extremely cruel and inhhumane, and keeping them enclosed for this purpose is cruel. I find this to be barbaric. Read more

This proposal is an outrage! We are judged by our ethics and cruelty is so beneath this great country of Canada. Where on earth did this stem from? We should strive to be humane in all circumstance. Come on people!

I consider using wildlife to train hunting dogs inhumane and barbaric. This should never be allowed in Ontario. I have nothing against hunting but “cornerning” animals to be “chased to death” by other animals is inhumane. Period.

Hello, I do not support the proposal to allow the issuance of licences for new dog train and trial areas and the transfer of licences. Please do not amend the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act and / or other regulations to allow these changes. Read more

These “licences” should absolutely not be allowed. They are condoning animal abuse. Both the wildlife and the dogs are being horribly abused. The containment of wildlife on private property for this purpose should be banned. Nobody has the right to do this.

I reject the proposal to allow new licenses for train and trial areas in Ontario, as well as the transfer of licenses. Wildlife should not be removed from their natural environments. Even though the proposal states that the effects will be neutral, this cannot be known for certain. Read more

Recently, I learned from Animal Justice of the Ontario Government's intention to expand on facilities allowing unleashed hunting dogs on penned prey. I had no idea that these facilities existed but I was appalled that they do and the manner in which they are operated. Read more
