Why would we not come up with a plan to develop in area that do not have irreversible impacts on our green spaces and wetlands. Is the job of this generation not to leave a legacy of preservation and sustainability. Find another place to build!

Bill 23 is wrong on many levels. Environmental experts and urban planning experts unanimously agree that the government is on the wrong track with this Bill. Stop the attack on the green belt. Stop pandering to the developers who only care about their financial gain.

These changes seek to allow development of what few wetlands we have remaining in Ontario. They are short-sighted and do not benefit the people of Ontario. These changes will not be helpful to the people of Ontario in the future as the climate crisis worsens.

Please reconsider using land of the green belt for housing. We need to save this land for future generations, to ensure clean water, preserve species and maintain the farmland that feeds us. Please look at the long-term situation and build infill housing and repurpose land on brownfield sites

What is the purpose of conserving? If one government didn’t or can’t rezone how can another simply walk in and change the rules. We need to save the precious spaces not only for wildlife but for us. We aren’t meant to live in concrete jungles. If it’s protected- protect it.

I am beyond appalled. This proposal will destroy the beautiful province of Ontario by paving over our existing greenbelt and green spaces while urban centers are left to decay. Infrastructure is disintegrating in most cities and towns. Wake up! All wetlands are significant. Read more
