The proposal to use the green belt for land development would have a devastating effect on the Ontario environment if enacted, and goes against everything Ontario stand for.

I am often asked by visiting friends and new Canadians "what should I see while I'm here". My most common answer - Rent a car and drive northwest, north or northeast from Toronto to see how beautiful Ontario is.

The people of Hamilton have spoken again and again, leave the greenbelt alone!! We've made it clear that we do NOT consent, this is an affront to democracy!!
I believe it is an extremely shortsighted move to drop restrictions and develop on the Greenbelt. Agricultural land should be treated as an extremely valuable resource.

I am writing this comment to protest the amendment of the GreenBelt Plan. The Greenbelt lands must be maintained, or the vision of having a Greenbelt becomes meaningless.

I urge the Premier to:
withdraw the plan to remove lands from the Greenbelt;
get on with a meaningful Greenbelt expansion that reflects public input - repeatedly promised but never delivered by the Ford government;

Bill 23 is the Ford Government latest attempt to remove protected land from the Greenbelt, allowing developers to bulldoze and pave over 7,000 acres of farmland in the Greenbelt;
Ontario is already losing 319.6 acres of farmland and greenspace daily to development;

How does this benefit ontario overall other than benefiting the developers and thebines taking donations from them.
This changes does not benefit the animals or forest in the area. The long term damage is something to worry about not only the pockets that are being filled with the profits
I strongly agree with Minister Steve Clark's decision to remove lands at Pine Valley Dr north of Teston Rd from Greenbelt for the sole purpose of residential development.

In grade 12 Advanced Geography class we were taught about the Oak Ridges Morraine. How it actually was formed was during the last Ice Age. As the glaciers moved south they pushed forward earth and rocks.

The greenbelt is meant to be left untouched and this plan includes modifying it to get around the act that protects it. Condos are not affordable housing, by and large they are the chips in the international poker game that is speculative Canadian real estate investment.

Leave the green belt alone. This will destroy the watershed all the way to Niagara region. Wouldn’t want to hurt your big tourist dollars there, would you?
I am totally opposed to using the Greenbelt for housing. We should not be producing more 1950's style of housing tracts that require a car to go anywhere. The emphasis should be on in fill housing, higher density housing and re developing our downtowns.

We should preserve the greenbelt and find other ways to help with the housing crisis.
Convert office space to residential as many people are WFH. Increase density in the GTA.

I am not in agreement with the opening up of our Greenbelt for housing.
The Greenbelt must be preserved as a buffer around our urban areas. It preserves ground water for numerous watersheds, wildlife habitats, recreation space, climate preservation and farmland.

As climate change is already upon us, I urge lawmakers to keep the existing urban boundary intact and not make any amendments to the current green belt protection. Only add to the green belt, don’t take anything away!
I do not support removing any lands from the Greenbelt. I have heard from urban planners time and time again that the lack of land is not the problem - there are still greenfield areas outside of the greenbelt that can be developed.
