We must save the Greenbelt for future generations. Doug Ford is listening to big-money developers, not the citizens of Ontario. There is a plethora of land available elsewhere in the province which is not protected. But the developers prefer the Greenbelt. Read more

I strongly disagree with this proposal and feel that it goes in a completely different direction than what the leading urban centres in the world are doing. There are many options to add density within our existing boundaries by changing zoning and as-of-right permissions. Read more

Developing the greenbelt must be stopped at all costs. The brief moment of wealth for developers and politicians who will profit from this will be a flicker compared to the devastating long term effects to the ecosystem, soil retention, and quality of life for everyone in Southern Ontario. This proposed amendment to the green belt would be harmful to so many living organisms that have not been taken into consideration. Potential flooding to properties, including farm properties can have severe affects to both crops and animals. The green belt should be preserved.

There is no doubt about the housing crisis in Canada and Ontario in particular. This is NOT the way to solve this crisis. Destroying green spaces will only cause a strain on resources down the line (for example when flooding occurs as a result). Read more
