This is a terrible plan. Our family and community are completely against this proposal. We NEED to keep our Green belt as just that. Green. There must be a better way to address housing needs without destroying the few protected areas we have left. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
This is a betrayal by the gov't, it is difficult to understand it any other way. I'm not confident anyone who gets this email is all that concerned what I think...but I had to comment.
I am totally against this Bill. The only people who will benefit are the Land Developers who have contributed to Doug ford's campaign and/or are cronies of Doug Ford.

The government should be protecting the existing Greenbelt and adding to it. Until every bit of underdeveloped, vacant or underused property in the Golden Horseshoe is better utilized, greenbelt land should not even be considered for development.

I wholeheartedly disagree with the decision to allow development in the Greenbelt; protecting environmentally sensitive land is of critical importance to future generations of Ontarians.

With the amount of available space for development (as shown by the Housing Commission), there is absolutely no reason to destroy or alter the precious and vital Greenbelt. The government made a promise to keep their hands off this land, and somehow land has still been sold to developers.

I think it is important to consider the effects this will have on the health of the surrounding population. Redesignating agricultural land will make the prices of food higher in the surrounding area, so affordable housing does not make much sense if people cannot afford to eat.

Stop destroying our Greenbelt!
Please keep your promise that you made to all Ontarians. Once it’s gone it’s gone forever.
Our wetlands are irreplaceable and a key to preventing climate change.
Please save the green belt, it is an important part to us, the citizens, and the natural habitats. We cannot afford to lost more green area, and introduce more carbon footprint. Please reconsider the plan.
Premier Ford promised not to touch the Greenbelt. There is no need to remove or redesignate Greenbelt lands. There is plenty of available land already zoned appropriately to build affordable homes. This broken promise will not be forgotten the next time we vote in a provincial election.

The approach taken by this government is flawed:
-lack of studies to explain how they decided on which lands, why they are taking this approach, what are the ramifications… it takes decades to protect areas and apparently a month to destroy all that work

There is NO need to open up the greenbelt to development except to line the pockets of developer friends of Ford! The cost is astronomical. Losing our greenbelt is NOT an option and if we ever wanted a politician to keep a promise it is now! STOP FORD. Leave out greenbelt alone.
Keep your promise to keep away from the Greenbelt! Saving every bit of these green spaces and prime agricultural land is essential for climate resiliency. This is serious!
