THIS IS A HORRIBLE IDEA!! The Green Belt provides essential water sources to the local ecosystem and continues to foster biodiversity in Southern Ontario. This is now more crucial than ever as Southern Ontario faces extreme urbanization. PROTECT THE GREEN BELT

I think this proposal is dangerous as it does not take the ecosystem health into consideration. The greenbelt is a source of drinking water and is home to many species that are at risk. This proposal is not stable and could cause ecosystem collapse.

Compensate the owners of this land. Uphold what was promised years ago. Keep it green!! I do not trust the Ford government to do what is right for all. He will do what is best for developers. Many many options to make accomodations for the expected influx of people.

This proposal will lead to more sprawl. There is lots of land within the current urban boundary that should be developed first. Also - what is needed is affordable housing which can be most effectively provided through intensification and through public housing. Read more

The solution to housing is not to destroy public green space for more suburb developments. We should not remove our municipal and provincial green space, which improves quality of air, land, and life in our cities and province. Read more

As a Conservative voter I am offended by the proposed changes to the greenbelt. The green belt is not the bottle neck in building new houses and we rely on the green belt for clean water and clean air. Do not build on the green belt.

I oppose Bill 23 because I believe the Greenbelt should be protected as promised by Premier Ford. We must protect the environment in the face of global warming. Clearing land and diverting water courses for development will do the opposite. Read more

I strongly oppose this amendment. The greenbelt is too valuable environmentally to lose. It will do irreparable damage. There are other solutions to the housing crisis in Ontario. Doug Ford should be ashamed for breaking his promise to leave the greenbelt alone.

As a young adult looking to buy a first house, I understand the need for more housing. However, as a graduate from an Environmental Science program, I do not understand the need to remove green space from the Greenbelt to make this happen. Read more

Land lost in the GreenBelt should be reallocated- the whole point of the Greenbelt is to preserve land, protect natural wildlife (as their homes are being displaced with commercial, institutional, residential builds and infrastructure) and their habitats, and practices of water and land conservation Read more

I am strongly opposed to this amendment. As a resident of Ontario, I am concerned that this plan will cause a great deal of harm to the province's ecosystems and agricultural resources, without addressing the root cause of the housing crisis. Emily

At a time where retail malls sit empty, can the government not consider building up from the base of these providing homes. There sits a massive footprint with ample parking and situated in locations that are ideal for residential. Read more
