The draft reg doesn't go far enough. It needs to be expanded to go beyond overnight on-water camping to include day use issues along all shorelines especially private ones. In Lake Scugog for example there is a situation along the Star Bay shoreline of privately owned Ball Pt. Read more

As a long-time island cottage owner, I have seen changes on our lake that are not all good. Boats are getting faster. Wakes are getting larger and more destructive. PWCs are moving way too fast, and way too close to shore to be safe. Our shorelines are being eroded. Swimmers are at risk. Read more

you can’t do in water work, early in the spring do the fish spawning. How are these stupid dumb ugly floating colleges allowed to put down there spuds and disturb the lake bed when I can’t even do that on my own property that I pay taxes on and fix my dock

The updated proposal removes the most useful elements of the original proposal. This is extremely disappointing. The elements that were removed should be made regardless of the current concern about the nature of floating accommodations.

As a cottage owner paying property tax and having to conform to all regulations, I am against non-navigational floating residences such as seacans set on styrofoam being allowed to effectively squat on crown land, dropping spuds into the lake bottom and potentially dumping black water into the lake. Great work on whom ever is pushing this through. Floating cottages would ruin the bay. They are too big and do not make sense. They would block out the bottom of the bay which could cause major implications. Read more
