this is a great idea and a great spot for people! having lots of activities such as hiking and biking trails, beach, park, rentals, day use area and more, makes it a great spot for everyone! it would be nice to see wheelchair accessible trails and sites for everyone to access!

Please make this park a place that protects all animals. Please permanently close the trapline and ban trapping in the park. Trapping is cruel and dangerous to non target animals and humans. Please also close the “Bear Management Area”, and instead promote non lethal coexistence with bears.

This sounds great! I can't wait to go camping here. I have to say though having more pet friendly cabins would be great as Well as hiking trails and campsites for those with mobility based special needs.

I would love to see some very private campsites. There aren't enough campgrounds that offer privacy. I loved what Bon Echo had with Hardwood Hills. Non electric, nothing bigger then under 18ft in that area. A small section of campsites away from the main area. Read more

As part of the goal of connecting people with nature, I would like to see Bigwind PP have a dedicated focus on environmental education & nature interpretation, including a full time Discovery staff team and strong leadership. Read more

As quite a number of people have said on the facebook post Ontario Parks made, how about upgrading and reopening some of the parks that were closed by the McGuinty government first! Or is it because they are too far north, and doesn't benefit people of southern Ontario? Read more

Developing big wind lake provincial park is a terrible idea. It does not have good road access, and the lake itself already has a lot of cottages on many sides. Read more

Very exciting news! It has become increasingly difficult to book a camp site at any provincial park since covid. We definitely could use some more parks and camp sites! Perhaps re-opening some closed parks could also help with booking a site.

I’m in the minority here and against Bigwind Lake Provincial Park becoming an operating provincial park. For anyone that’s not familiar with the area, the park is surrounded by Crown Land, privately owned property that’s mostly used as hunt camps and a few cottages. Read more

This park's central location north of the GTA could fulfill an important educational role as a "skills center". It's purpose would be to establish qualifications for new backcountry campers, hikers and canoeists. Read more

Construct trails that will have cross country ski trails, snowshoe trails, fat bike trails for winter use and hiking trails in summer. Canoe routes and backcountry sites.

On a recent trip to some National Parks we were very impressed with the Otentiks and the facilities at these parks for campers who don't own a trailer. It was wonderful to get out camping again. We are older and our children have left home so we no longer have a camping trailer. Read more

I would like to suggest an access road into the western side of Bigwind Park from Fraserburg Road, which is currently a long dead-end road that comes very close to the western boundary of the park. Read more

Hello! I love the idea to turn a non-operating provincial park into an operating park! I hope to see more of this happen in the future, along with parks that used to be operating re-opened. I'd also love to see more completely new non operating and operating park open across the province. Read more

I think you should be reopening parks that were shut down. Utilize property already designed for parks instead of wasting our tax dollars building this and destroying more land. This zealous overspending is ridiculous whe. Read more

Excited to see that Bigwind will become operational Groomed nordic ski trails like the system at Arrowhead would be great Mountain bike trails also a must Please keep the camping rustic, not luxury. Too bad we need electrified sites but I can see the need for EV charging Thank you
