We have a cottage on Pine Lake our private road shows access to to the park. We are worried the public would be using our road. This would put alot of strain and would increase the maintenance. Can we stop the public from going on our road. Read more

Very please this project is moving forward. As a resident of Bracebridge and an advent user of the Provincial Park system, this is an excellent opportunity to create a park with basically a blank slate. I do have a couple of comments Read more

In general, I'm in favour of this. I think it's very important to not develop the lakes that are partly privately owned (ie Bigwind). That would be extremely unfair to the cottagers and homeowners on those lakes, most of whom seem to practice fairly low-impact living. Read more

Please reconsider the size and scope of the Bigwind Provincial Park development plan. I don't think the park is nearly large enough to handle the 300 sites that seem to be proposed. Read more

I oppose this proposal in the strongest possible terms. This is another example of Mr. Ford's all-out assault on the environment. Bigwind Lake Provincial Park is a pristine area and must be kept as such. We have plenty other park spaces with camping and other various recreational facilities. Read more

I strongly support the creation of a new operating park at this location as long as the development zones are carefully designed to site development, site alteration and servicing infrastructure in the areas of least impact within the park boundaries. The management plan should: Read more

Make Bigwind a true wilderness park akin to say Brent in Algonquin. Have NO electrical sites, sites that are large enough to accommodate a tent or SMALL trailer not the homes on wheels that are becoming more popular in parks, ban generators, have fewer more spaced out secluded sites. Read more

I fully support this proposal for the development of 250 campsites and facilities. Camping is becoming a popular summer activity for people of all ages and walks of life and it's becoming harder to book a campsite in the Provincial Parks. Read more

I have written this comment to object to the Bigwind Park development. The Ontario Government has stated: "We are consulting and engaging with Indigenous communities and stakeholders, to integrate their input in this process.” Read more

Our cottage is on Bird Lake Road. While I am very supportive of the plan to create a new Provincial Park at the location indicated, my main concern would be road traffic. If there will be a separate access road from the 118 for this park then I have no issues. Read more

Please ban trapping and hunting in this park, and turn it into a sanctuary for wildlife and a fun place for people to visit. This place could educate visitors about wildlife. Use humane coexistence methods like education and bear proof containers instead of having it be a “bear management area”.

I was disappointed at the closure of the designated area when it became a Provincial Park. The banning of motor vehicles in the area, had a direct effect on me, my family and countless friends and fellow recreational enthusiasts. Read more
