I wholeheartedly disagree with this bill. in a time where toronto is struggling, using public funds to remove infrastructure that saves the public lives, is a provincial overreach and a misuse of public funds. please fix the major provincial transportation projects that will improve traffic.

I use the bike lanes on Bloor Street and University Avenue nearly every day to commute to and from work and school. There are almost always many other people riding in the bike lanes, with more than half of them usually being food delivery workers. Read more

I am highly concerned by the framework for bike lanes that require removal of a traffic lane. This is outside the jurisdiction of the provincial government, and takes away power unnecessarily from the municipalities. Read more

This bill is going in the wrong direction. I do not support the removal of bicycle infrastructure. We need to encourage more active transportation and public transit in order to make our towns and cities more livable for everyone and safe for vulnerable road users. Read more

If congestion is the main aim for this bill remove the HOV lane on highways or enforce during rush hour. I’ve noticed that there’s easily 10 drivers a day. Bike lanes in the city keep families and children like our 8 year old safe on the streets. Read more

I rely on these bike lanes to navigate safely through the city, and to travel sustainably and affordably. Considering the cost of living AND climate change crises that we are facing as a community, the city’s bike lanes are truly essential to making Toronto an accessible and modern city. Read more

As a 71-year-old cyclist who commutes from west downtown to the core for work at least five days a week, or more, the increased protection and safety of the new bike lines on Bloor and University are an indispensable part of my commute. Read more

Dont get rid of bike lanes. Its essential for physical and mental health of Canadians and is a way of commute for so many. Plus its better for the environment. Bike lanes with barricades and solid lines give cyclists and drivers with enough room, not a problem. Read more

The province in demanding that the City of Toronto ask permission to manage issues which are well run by our elected city officials, oversteps provincial jurisdiction and undermines the concept of democratic city government. Read more

Removing the bike lanes from Bloor would not save any car commuters time. Bloor was always one lane traffic anyway. Removing the bike lanes only increases the risk of a cyclist fatality. The addition of the lanes is what made me comfortable to bike instead of drive.

We need bike lanes. Active transportation is good for the health of our community. It prevents bikes from riding with the cars and causing traffic/congestion and driver road rage. Not to mention - we have invested the time and money in creating the infrastructure. It would be stupid to remove it. Read more

This misguided proposal is profoundly disappointing on many levels. It will lead to increased deaths and injuries. It will reduce economic activity. It will make Toronto less livable. It is a waste of money. Read more

Useful bike lanes are an integral part of what makes Toronto an incredible, vital and international city. I use the bike lanes in discussion regularly and am horrified at the proposal to remove infrastructure that is so heavily used by so much of the public. Read more

The only way I get around the city in a fast and affordable way, is on my bike. I would like to also continue to do it in a SAFE way, please don’t take away our bike lanes. This city does NOT need more and faster cars, but safer streets for cyclists and pedestrians who live here.

Removing bike lanes in the City of Toronto without any supporting data that would demonstrate their removal would have any positive impact on alleviating congestion is contrary to the public interest and completely misguided. Why is it against the public interest? Read more
