Thank you! Thank you! Given that the City of Toronto is unable to understand that maximizing the throughput of traffic on our major roads is essential to support the functioning of this rapidly growing city, I am grateful that you have the courage to step in. Read more

It will be devastating if Bill 212 is passed. 2024 has been the deadliest year for cycling deaths in Toronto. I lost a friend who was killed by motorists while cycling, all because she was trying to get home and the street did not have bicycle lanes. Read more

Eliminate bike lanes from major streets unless it is possible to expand the street and not reduce car lanes. Some major streets could actually benefit by the addition of car lanes.

Horrible idea. The idea that you can have a bustling, lively, busy area, that is car-first and also doesn't have a lot of traffic, is a total fantasy. It's never been done and this act will not do it. It will put more bikes in car lanes, slowing them down. Read more

Please do not remove the bike lanes. Me and my peers/ colleagues use them all the time. Whether it’s to get to work, or to cruise around the city during the weekend, the bike lanes are great. Read more

The bike lanes on Bloor have caused massive congestion on Bloor especially between Islington and Keele that I have witnessed first hand. Yesterday as I was just trying to get onto Bloor there was a back up on Gardenvale because of too much congestion on Bloor. Read more

I am outraged by Bill 212. My family relies on safe biking infrastructure to get around Toronto. We do not own a car and we rely exclusively on transit, walking, and biking (for the record I don't own a bike, but I use bikeshare regularly). Read more

The bike lines along Bloor, in the Kingsway, have increased the time it takes to get anywhere, and resulted in me avoiding that area altogether. I never shop those stores, even though they used to be part of my regular routine. Read more

To whom it may concern, I am a resident of Ward 3. The bike lane installation and removal of a car lane on Bloor St West in Etobicoke has caused significant disruptions to my community. Read more

I oppose the bike lanes as they are dangerous for pedestrians and cars. The bikers do not follow the rules of the road. They don’t pay attention and don’t stop at stop signs. It is a hazard getting out of a car parked beside a bike lane. Read more

The people who work in and lead government have a moral responsibility to protect the citizens they represent. Everyone involved with this bill - from Doug Ford and Prabmeet Sarkaria to the staff who are enabling them - have abandoned that responsibility. Read more

Bike lanes have caused huge traffic congestion in my area. Royal York & Bloor. I have witnessed fire trucks having difficulty getting through. The bike lanes are often empty while cars are backed up for long distances. Bikes should be on secondary roads Read more

This bill is a step back for our provinces cities and a major downgrade for all citizens. Bike lanes save lives, they encourage active transportation and they help people stay fit while going about their day. Every cyclist is one less car.
