Tiercon Corp. - Environmental Compliance Approval (air)

This proposal is for an amendment to the Limited Operational Flexibility for Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 2715-9Q6K5A for Tiercon Corp., a facility that finishes automotive parts for the transportation manufacturing sector, located in the City of Hamilton, Ontario.

The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that discharge to the air include:

• molding
• washing
• drying
• painting
• curing and assembly of automotive parts

The proposed amendment is to expand the facility to include the warehouse and its associated equipment, including one natural gas fired Make Up Air Unit, located directly west of the main building within property boundaries, and a renewal of the Operational Flexibility for the facility. Emissions to the air from this facility include:

• nitrogen oxides
• particulate matter
• isobutyl acetate
• ethyl 3-ethoxypropionate, and
• hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) monomer

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise). The Limited Operational Flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
